ANZAC Day

We made crosses out of wood and stuck poppies on them and put them on the bottom of our drive way.  We did this to remember the people who died in the wars.

  1. Hello Phoebe and Isabel
If we weren't allowed to travel I would drive through the gorge just to see your masterpiece.
I like the way you have recycled some wood and painted it to create the crosses and then added poppies. The wreath is lovely. Do you know if any of your ancestors went to war?
I think you have both created a very special tribute to our soldiers in war time. Well done.

  2. Kia ora Phoebe,
I liked the way you made your Anzac Day art. They look really good out on the fence so everyone can see them as they drive past. Did you get up at 6am on Anzac Day like I did?
Keep blogging. I like reading all the work you are doing while learning from home.

  3. Hi Phoebe!
Wow, you and Issy are so creative! I agree with Mrs Fisher, and wish I could come and see your crosses and poppies! What a great thing it was that you had plenty of great art materials to use! I'm so looking forward to being able to come and visit you all again soon and see all your creativity in real life!
What a great job you did and I love that you went to so much effort as to put them at your front gate, so that anyone that is able to travel can see them and realise that creativity exists everywhere - even in the middle of the gorge! Give everyone at home a hug for me and tell them I hope they've had a great day.

  4. Hi girls, I just love this photo of you with your special tribute to our soldiers who lost their lives. Your crosses are so well made. How did you secure the cross bar? Isn't it amazing what you can create from bits and bobs! It would have made the essential workers needing to travel smile I am sure. Beautiful.

  5. Hi Phoebe
I have just realised that I made an error in my comment to you. I should have written 'If we were allowed to travel' I had better work on editing before I publish!

  6. Hi Girls
What a special thing to do, I like that you have made the crosses big so they can be seen well when people are driving past, it will be a nice surprise for people driving through the gorge. The poppies are beautiful, very creative work, well done girls. Mrs Bayley
